Just Plane Fun!

I spent a couple of hours enjoying the sunshine while mowing and weeding the back yard, and I'm hoping that the weather will hold out tomorrow so that I can get the front yard looking somewhat back in shape - it's amazing how fast weeds and grass grow!   After all that work it's time to get back on track and color, create and enter challenges, so here's a card that I colored with.......Distress inks, no copics today!!!

The image is "Aeroplane" from Lili of the Valley, sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie, and the dp is from DCVW Travel Stack Collection.  I put Judikins Diamond Glaze on all the nailheads and lock on the dp, and the ribbons and brads are from my stash.

More News!!

Today I get to make another announcement - I was invited to join another Design Team!!!  The next few months are going to busy with challenges and teaching card classes - I can't wait!!  So my first card for Dream Valley Challenges is on their blog today, and I am very proud to be included in this creative group of crafters!!  The challenge for the next two weeks is "RIBBONS", so get creative and come and join the fun!
This is my card for the challenge and I finally stamped one of the Bildmarina stamps that I purchased a couple of months ago.  The image was colored with Copics then cut out, embossed and layered with Spellbinders Label 11.  Dp is from Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection, with the doilies fussy cut from one of the sheets from the 6 x 6 pad.  I airbrushed the 1.5" wrinkled ribbon with the same Copic colors that I used on the image, then layered it behind a decorative accent cut with a die from Spellbinders, which I wove satin ribbon through.  Behind the sentiment, I pleated the same satin ribbon, and then added several pearls throughtout the card all made with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

Today is the big day - the announcement of the final 3 Designers for Team Buddly at Cuddly Buddly, and I am so proud to be included amongst these fantastic ladies.  The new challenge blog starts on July 1st so check it out.
For my introduction project I choose the sweet digi image "Bunches in the Flowers" by Lilyboo Designs, just one of the seven digital artists that create for Cuddly Buddly.  I colored her with Copics, cut out the image and frames with Spellbinders Labels 15, and used Prima's designer paper as the background.  The flowers were punched out of shimmery vellum, layered and adhered to the card front.  The sentiment is from Whimsy stamps and the ribbon is from my stash.

Catching Up

This is my second post for today - I was commissioned to do an 8 x 8 album for a teacher late Monday night, and it had to be finished by today at 3 - so I had no time to color, but I'm back with my first Kenny K card.  I love digital images because they allow you to flip, resize and merge images, so for this card I merged Super Mom and Cookie Guy.
Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #49 is to use my favorite color, and I love turquoise ( or jade ).  I printed the images on Copic Xpress paper, and then colored with Copics. All three of the dp's are from October Afternoon's The Thrift Shop collection, sentiment is from Hero Arts, and the pearls were made with a Viva Decor Pearl pen.

Feeling Blue

Okay, this post has nothing to do with the wonderfully awful weather we are still getting - rain, rain and more rain - what happened to Alberta's blue skies.   The Make it Colourful Challenge #22 is to colour with blue, so I took that and ran with it.  Here's my entry:

"Rylee pout" is a wonderful digi from Stitchy Bears, and she is definitely blue ( coloured with copics ).  The image was cut out with Spellbinders Labels 21, then mounted on blue cardstock and fussy cut.  Sentiment is from Inkadinkado's Friendly Advice set, dp is Memory Box Spearmint collection, pearls were made with a Viva Decor Pearl pen, and the dies were cut with Marianne Dies.  The ribbon, flowers, and buttons are all from my stash.

Sizzlin' Summer

Dreaming of hot summer days lounging on the beach - what a lovely dream!!  Some day the rain will stay away, and we can all enjoy the heat that this lovely lady is experiencing.  This week at Outlawz Copic/ Promarker Summer challenge you need to create a summer background, so out came the airbrushing tools for my Copics.  I started by masking off the area that the sand would be as well as the sun, then used Maya Road Resist to mask off the white caps in the water.  The sea and sky were airbrushed with B21 and B24, the sun was FY1, and the background of the sand was E23.  I used a Versa Mark embossing pad and Ranger Distress Tea Dye Embossing powder to make the sand grainy.  After removing the Maya Resist, the white caps of the waves were enhanced with Flower Soft Polar White.  The image "Florence" and sentiment are from Kraftin' Kimmie, and of course were colored with Copics.  Seashell charms were from my stash.  I am entering this card into the following challenge - Outlawz Copic/Promarker Summer Backgound.

Recipe for Friendship

Mo's DP2 Challenge this week is to follow this Recipe -
"A Recipe for Friendship"

Take two people with common interests,
Mix together with love and understanding,
Stir in a sense of humor and a lot of compassion,
Bake for a lifetime...
and enjoy the fruits of your labor knowing that you both have made a remarkable concoction that will last forever!
I have chosen the image "Jack and Ginger" which for me reflects the essence of the recipe.  The love and affection this couple show is so heart warming.  The image was colored with Copics, and everything else I used is from my stash of ever growing supplies. I am entering this card into Mo's Challenge #86 at http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/.

Summer Scents

Well it's another day of rain and thunderstorms here.   My dogs are spending lots of time quivering under my desk - and if you saw the big one you would wonder how she fits under there, but she does!!  For Indie, if there is the will, there is a way - you should see her sit in one of those foldable beach chairs!!

Since it's so gloomy outside I decided that it was time to pull out the glitter and add some sparkle and shine to my day.  I started by stamping the beautiful Jasmine from Stamps Happen on to watercolor paper, and then painted her with Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress inks and an aquabrush.  Here's a photo I took before adding the glitter, and I think I like the image before - what do you think?
The colors are much more vibrant in the before, and I did a lot of humming and hawing before I went to the next step.  I just may have to paint up another Jasmine!!!
I added a layer of Scor Tape, and then used cool highlight microfine glitter from Glitter Ritz to burnish the image, giving the finished image a glow!!  The dp is from K & Company Julianne paper pad, inked with four of the same colors of distress inks that the image was colored with.  Sentiment is from Whimsy stamps Ticket Sentiments, cut with the matching Whimsy die and the ribbon is from my stash ( one of these days I will need to run over to the other side of Calgary for a day of ribbon shopping - anyone want to come? ).

Fishing Time

Woohoo, we finally saw the sun today and it's suppose to stick around for most of tomorrow as well, and then the rain returns again. :( (   We'll take any sun that we can get, I know that my yard needs to dry out - anyone need some naturally grown moss?!!!

On to today's card - I colored this cute Teddy Bo image with my copics, texturized the bear with Copic Blending solution and a scrap of terry towel,  and diamond glazed the bear's nose, the fish and reel.  The sentiment is from LOTV.  The image was fussy cut, and then mounted onto grey cardstock which was also fussy cut, making my first truly shaped card.  Here's the colors of Copics that I used.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Zoom, Zoom Goes the Car!!

My internet provider was having a bad day today, I couldn't play all day until about 7 tonight.  Isn't it amazing how fast you get attached to a computer and all the exploring you can do in a day?  The weather man is calling for a couple of sunny days here, which would be a nice change from all the gloom and rain we have had lately, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
This is Lili of the Valley's Zooming Along image colored with Copics.  The dp is from DCWV paper collection The Guy Stack, ribbon and brads are from my stash.  There is a bit of flash on his googles, windshield, and headlight that was added with a Sakura Metallic Silver pen.

Do You Believe?

It's time to play with digi's again, and this image is one of my favorites from Mo's Digital Pencil - Baby Fairy Ayana who I colored with my copics.  The image was cut out with Spellbinders Label 5, and mounted on the background with 3D-pop up dots.  Sentiment is from Krafty Kimmie and was inked to match the dp which is from Prima's Fairy Flora paper stack.  The flourishes were cut with a Sizzix die and embellished with Viva Decor Pearl pens. ribbons were from my stash.  After the card was assembled I sprayed the entire card with Smooch Vanilla Shimmer Spritz to add sparkle and shine!

Something Different

Good morning to you all today!  This is another card that I put together for my Guest Designer spot at One Crazy Stamper, and there is not a drop of Copic ink on this one!
This card features two Whimsy stamp sets - Life Defined and Time Flies Sentiment set.  The background image was stamped with Versamark, and then embossed with Harmonie clear embossing powder, after which I used a Ranger Ink Blending Tool and various Distress Ink pads to add color and dimension.  I used an oldie, but a goodie to cut out the background, Fiskars Paper Edgers stamp edge decorative scissors.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink, and inked with Distress colors.  The watch was also embossed, but with Copper powder and then inked up, fussy cut and popped up with 3D-dots.  The burlap trim was in my stash of ribbon and lace.
Enjoy your day, and I hope that the sun is shining on you all today, unlike here!!
P.S. For a complete list of the colors I used check out todays post on the One Crazy Stamper blog, http://onecrazystampercom.blogspot.com/.

You Know it's a Good Day when....

It's a really great day when you open your email and you have been invited to join a Design Team!!  I am really proud to announce that I am one of seven new designers for Team Buddly, at Cuddly Buddly's Let's Keep Creating! Digi Challenge.  This is a brand new challenge site that starts in July, so check it out at http://blog.cuddlybuddly.com/, and stay tuned for cards featuring images from one of Cuddly Buddly's seven fantastic artists.

Rainbow Wishes

Here's the second card I created for my Guest Designer spot with One Crazy Stamper!
The theme for this month's challenge is Colors of the Rainbow, and the first thing that came to mind when the theme was announced was the song "Somewhere over the Rainbow" from The Wizard of Oz.  This cute Storybook Friends image is from Stampavie, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on Copic X Press paper, colored with Copics, and then cut out using Spellbinders Label 18.  Dp's are from the Beach Babe 6 x 6 collection by Fancy Pants, punched border is from Martha Stewart, and I distressed the edges with a Tonic Distress Tool.  For the rainbow colored seam binding trim, I used several colors of Tattered Angels Glimmer mists, and scrunched it up for more impact.  The sentiment is from Whimsy's Raindrop Echo Designs Friendship Postage Stamps, cut with the Whimsy Postage Stamp Die.
In the close up you can see the sparkly red shoes created with Sakura's Stardust pen, and the Judikins Diamond Glaze on the glasses.  The bluebirds, the red shoes, and the little girl in blue are all references to the movie.  Enjoy your day and don't forget to enter One Crazy Stampers challenge this month at http://onecrazystampercom.blogspot.com/.
And if you're in the shopping mood, all the supplies I listed are available at One Crazy Stampers online store, just click on the icon in the sidebar!!  Have a great one!!

Summer Fun

Don't you just want to join in the fun that this couple is experiencing?  I love Art Impressions stamps, and this one is a favorite.  It's from the Still Livin' collection and is entitled Jump In ( available at OCS ).  This weeks challenge at Art Impressions is Happy Summer!!, and I think this card says it all.
I colored the image with my Copics, fussy cut and then mounted it on little springs that I made ( makes the image wiggle and jiggle ).  Additional dimension was added on the goggles, water wings, and inner tube with Judikins Diamond Glaze, and I also fussy cut some of the fish from an extra piece of designer paper and popped them up with foam dots.  The dp is Fancy Pants Beach Babe collection.  The sentiment is included with the stamp from AI.  Here's a close up of the dimension:

My First GD!

Good morning everyone!  It's the first of June which means that I can show you my first card that I created for One Crazy Stampers June challenge Colors of the Rainbow, as a guest designer .
The image and sentiment is from Art Impressions "Dancers" available from OCS, that I colored with Copics.  The background was created by stamping the sentiment and musical notes onto white cardstock and then overlaying that with a sheet of acrylic that I airbrushed with the colors of the Rainbow.  Check out all of the beautiful cards that the Design Team created at http://www.onecrazystampercom.blogspot.com/ and check out all the fun items you can purchase at One Crazy Stampers on line store ( http://www.onecrazystamper.com/ ).
